Consensus

PoW production with a post-quantum BFT architecture.

Active block production, ML-DSA-65-signed HotStuff evidence and exact semantics for the tested finality surface.

Public-safe is not unrestricted. Privacy, safe-mode, read-only, quota, role and gateway policies can still mask or deny a listed surface.

Two layers of consensus engineering

PoW block production is active. Alongside it, Talero implements and tests a HotStuff BFT/finality surface whose validator identity, proposals, votes, quorum certificates and evidence formats use ML-DSA-65.

The BFT finality architecture is tested and ready for activation. Strict BFT activation is not armed in the deployed public testnet release.

Read finality precisely

talero_finalizedHead is the canonical finality read. Finality estimates, wallet status, BFT status and public lag signals are diagnostic or advisory; they are not guarantees of irreversible settlement.

PoQ is advisory, non-consensus and non-blocking. It adds evidence without replacing the canonical finality read.
